The following year she was awarded an additional nod for her role in Rambling Rose that also featured Dern.

Actually, I’m the only woman in recorded history to helm a film with her ex. I humorously say: ‘I say ladies, if you want revenge, guide your former spouse.’ However, I’m joking.”
Personal Connections
Ladd was also a relative of playwright Tennessee Williams, whom she described as “a significant impact on my life”.
Back in 2018, doctors misdiagnosed Ladd with a pulmonary condition and informed she had just six months to live yet she recovered completely once her daughter moved her to another medical facility.
“Should you harness your suffering and avoid letting it accumulate similar to a wound, instead use it to investigate, to make the path clearer for yourself and others, then you are winning,” Ladd remarked.
