Beloved Actor The actor Pat Finn, Known For Appearances in Friends and The Middle, Passes Away at the Age of Sixty.
Stateside entertainer Pat Finn, who was seen in popular programs such as "Friends", "Seinfeld" and The Middle, has passed away aged 60.
The comedy and improvisation performer died at home in LA this Monday following cancer treatment since 2022, per news outlets.
"Pat Finn considered no one a stranger - only friends he had yet to meet," his relatives said in a statement.
They noted that he had "lived his life fully - with joy and exuberance".
An Extensive Career on Screen
His initial on-screen part was on a show starring George Wendt in 1995, where he appeared as the titular character's brother.
He also had a regular part on Murphy Brown from 1995 to 1997.
He appeared as Joe Mayo in "Seinfeld" in 1998, depicting a host famous for delegating tedious tasks to his guests.
During the end of the 90s and start of the 2000s, he had guest spots on a variety of hit series, like:
- "King of Queens"
- Friends
- That '70s Show
- House
Finn was perhaps best known for his portrayal of Bill Norwood in "The Middle", featuring across eight series from 2011 to 2018.
His work in movies are It's Complicated and Santa Paws 2: The Santa Pups (2012).
A Life in Improv
Away from his on-screen roles, Finn was a skilled improviser and also taught at the University of Colorado, where he was a faculty member.
He was a member of a comedy group of six called Beer Shark Mice.
"Pat taught, supported, and inspired many learners over the years and it would be difficult to find anyone anyplace who has anything negative to say about him," his family wrote.
In a tribute, peer Richard Kind said there was "no kinder, gentler, funnier, grounded individual you could encounter".
"Always positive, helping you be funnier and better. An excellent dad and person," he shared on social media.
Finn is survived by his wife Donna, his three kids, and his family.
