Recent Details Emerge Concerning the Location of Rob and Michele Singer Reiner's Bodies
Fresh particulars have surfaced regarding the shocking demises of acclaimed film director Rob Reiner and photographer Michele Singer Reiner, whose remains were located at their Los Angeles home property on Sunday.
The Alarm
A source indicates citing a confidential source, a practitioner scheduled for an appointment first raised the alarm after failing to get inside the house. This individual then reached out to the couple's daughter, Romy Reiner, who resides close by.
When she went into the home, Romy found her father's body. Reports state she then left the home distraught, without knowing at that moment that her mother's body was there as well. Her roommate who had accompanied her contacted 911. Subsequently, first responders discovered Michele Singer Reiner's body.
Criminal Developments
Law enforcement have formally accused the couple's 32-year-old son, Nick Reiner, with the charges of first-degree murder, along with the use of a dangerous weapon, said to be a knife. He is presently detained without bail.
Correcting the Record
The anonymous source challenged several previously reported details. The source indicated that while Romy Reiner informed emergency responders that her brother Nick lived in a detached unit on the grounds, she did not name him as a potential suspect at that moment.
Furthermore refuted circulated claims that Rob and Michele Singer Reiner had been especially "concerned" about Nick's conduct in recent weeks. Rather the family was "accustomed to working through [Nick's] problems together."
This refutation also extends to descriptions of alleged "unstable" behavior by Nick at a gathering hosted by Conan O'Brien the evening prior to the discovery. While the source stated they were not in a position to confirm whether Rob had "rebuked" his son at the party, they asserted that suggestions of a "major confrontation" between the two were inaccurate.
Ongoing Inquiry Details
According to law enforcement sources, the medical examiner had yet to determine as of Tuesday whether the Reiners died on Saturday evening or on Sunday. Some accounts indicated the condition of their bodies suggested they had been dead for a number of hours.
Nick Reiner was apprehended at around 9:30 p.m. on Sunday in the Exposition Park area, about 15 miles from the scene. He was scheduled to have a hearing on Tuesday, but his legal counsel, Alan Jackson, said his client had not been medically cleared and would not appear until Wednesday at the earliest.
