Three Shortlisted for Young Sports Personality Prize

England footballer Michelle Agyemang, darts sensation Luke Littler and batswoman Davina Perrin have been named as finalists for the 2025 Young Athlete of the Year award.
The three finalists have been celebrated for their outstanding achievements over the previous year.
Agyemang was instrumental as the Lionesses secure Euro 2025, Littler secured the world title for the very first time, and Perrin surged to prominence with a record-breaking innings.
Littler claimed this honour in 2024 after his sensational debut year.
The three contenders were revealed during a live broadcast on a widely-listened-to radio show.
The 2025 recipient will be unveiled on the Sports Personality of the Year show on Thursday, 18 December.
The show will be aired from seven in the evening GMT.
Agyemang's Profile
Age: 19 Sport: Football
Just three months after her senior team debut, Agyemang played a dramatic and decisive role in England's run to Euro 2025 glory.
She was introduced as a substitute to score key tying goals in both the knockout stage games.
These match-saving moments led to her being named Young Player of the Tournament.
Later in the year, she was awarded the prestigious Golden Girl honour for the top young European talent.
She was also nominated for the Kopa Trophy for the planet's top young female footballer.
Agyemang, who has been at Brighton in a temporary move from Arsenal, ruptured her anterior cruciate ligament in October.
"Being on the shortlist for this award is incredible," said Agyemang. "I'm grateful to God and I'm thankful for the support I've received from my loved ones, mentors, colleagues and supporters."
The Darts Prodigy

Littler kicked off the year in incredible form as - at just 17 years old - he became the earliest-ever winner in history.
He secured a dominant victory over Michael van Gerwen in the final.
His follow-up triumph at the World Matchplay made him only the fifth player to complete the prestigious triple crown of major titles.
He didn't stop there - his win in November's Grand Slam of Darts meant he reached world number one for the maiden occasion.
At 18, he is the most youthful player to do so, shattering the previous record.
"Earning a spot on the shortlist for this award again is a huge privilege," stated Littler. "Last year's win was a highlight for me and I've had another amazing 12 months. I want to continue raising the profile of darts."
Davina Perrin
Age: 19 Sport: Cricket
Perrin is one of English cricket's most exciting young talents and rose to fame with an unbelievable and unprecedented innings in August.
Her magnificent 42-ball century in The Hundred is the fastest by an English woman in T20s.
It also stands as the shared third-fastest women's T20 century in a top-tier competition.
Perrin finished second in the run-scoring charts and was named PCA Women's Young Player of the Year.
"I'm deeply humbled to be shortlisted for the young athlete award," expressed Perrin. "This is phenomenal. I hope it encourages more young females to get into cricket."
